Crowd Machine Compute Token
The Crowd Machine Compute Token (CMCT) is an ERC-20 compliant token used to power Apps on the Crowd Computer when using the Decentralized Cloud deployment. When the decentralized Crowd Computer is made public, App builders will be able to build and test their Apps for free. Once Apps are ready to deploy to a production state, App builders will be required to purchase CMCT to fund their App execution.
Additionally, Agoric Node operators will be required to provide Proof of Reserve (PoR) to run their node. PoR ensures that an Agoric Node has sufficient funding in place to pay the Activity Compute Nodes (ACNs) that are tethered to their node.
CMCT Consumption Flow
As Apps are executed in production mode, CMCT is used to pay for their use of resources on the network. Each Agoric Node and ACN that undertakes work on behalf of an App is rewarded in CMCT.
Furthermore, App Builders who contribute content to Crowd Share are compensated for their contribution whenever their work is used and run in an App on the Crowd Computer. CMCT can be purchased from exchanges listing CMCT for sale.
CMCT Required to Run an App
The amount of CMCT required to run an App is dependent upon the App’s complexity and number of users running the App.
The more complex the App, or the greater the number of users running the App, the more CMCT is required. Therefore, as the number of Apps deployed on the Crowd Computer increases, CMCT currently in the market will be consumed by App owners to pay for executing their Apps.
The Agoric Node PoR CMCT Pool
Crowd Machine is allowing its community of CMCT holders to participate in a PoR pool where token holders can rent their tokens to the network. For further information on participating in this program please email us.
